On Monday 26 February Southwell residents have been handled to a go to from award-winning poet, Kate Wakeling.
To mark Southwell Music Festival’s 10th anniversary this August, Kate is working with composer Cheryl Frances-Hoad to create a brand-new 15-minute piece for soprano soloist, string orchestra and refrain. This new piece will rejoice the ability and potentialities of music and will likely be premiered as a part of the Pageant’s Sunday evening live performance alongside Mozart’s Requiem.
Kate is eager for the textual content creation to be a collaborative effort, and plans to weave collectively historic texts with phrases from the Southwell neighborhood.
